Łukasz Kohut is a Member of the European Parliament for Poland, belonging to the European People’s Party (EPP), the centre-right group, and sitting as an independent with no national party affiliation. Kohut's current term is the 10th parliamentary term, which began on 16 July 2024, and since 23 July 2024 Kohut has been Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights. Kohut also served in the 9th parliamentary term, from 2 July 2019, as a member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament until 10 June 2024. From 11 June to 15 July 2024, Kohut was among the Non-attached Members. In that term, Kohut's national party was Wiosna, then Nowa Lewica from 9 October 2021, and from 24 April 2024 Kohut sat as an independent.
