Jens Geier is a Member of the European Parliament for Germany, belonging to the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D), the centre-left group, and to the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands. Geier has been a Member in the 10th parliamentary term since 16 July 2024, and also served in the 7th, 8th and 9th terms. In the 8th term, Geier was Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgets. Before joining the Parliament, Geier was Manager at Deloitte & Touche from 2007 to 2014 and held various posts in the SPD from 1977 to 2014.
