Claudiu Manda is a Member of the European Parliament for Romania, belonging to the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D), the centre-left group, and to the Partidul Social Democrat. Since 23 July 2024, Manda has been Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgetary Control in the 10th parliamentary term (2024–2029), which began for Manda on 16 July 2024. The 9th parliamentary term of the European Parliament also included Manda as a Member. At national level, Manda was a Senator from 2016 to 2019 and a Member of the Romanian Parliament in 2004–2008, 2008–2012 and 2012–2016. Manda has also been President of PSD Dolj since 2013.
